7× award-winning producer and studio executive
Writer. Showrunner. Studio executive.
Over the past decade, Alex Vespestad has drawn more than 80 million downloads, won Webby, Signal and multiple Ambies award, and put #1 podcasts originals atop the Apple and Spotify charts.
His work is recognized as staples within the podcasting community. To Live and Die in L.A. was named the Associated Press's #1 podcast of 2019 and crossed 15 million downloads in its first two months. Everything They Missed, a wrongful-conviction series he wrote, helped overturn an 18-year sentence. Wisecrack, which he produced, was named Ambie Podcast of the Year for 2026 (over Call Her Daddy, Crime Junkie, SmartLess, and Pod Save America). Along the way he's built companions and originals with HBO, Netflix, Spotify, and A24, and wrote and directed an Audible original with Steph Curry.
As President of Tenderfoot Labs, Alex built the studio's production arm from the ground up and runs its commercial operations end to end, developing five to eight premium series at a time, negotiating co-production and licensing deals, and holding full rights to the flagship IP he creates. He'd done the same before, launching the podcast division at Jonathan Glickman's Panoramic Media and shaping slates for iHeartMedia.
What he's drawn to hasn't changed: the format no one's tried, the story no one's told, the project willing to take a real swing.
These days he's chasing something quieter.
He bought a 1970 Ford F250 — California cream and turquoise blue — and turned it into TRUCK: a rolling studio where musicians ride shotgun down PCH, trade the stories behind their songs, then climb into the bed and play.
