True Detective: Night Country

The official companion podcast to HBO's True Detective: Night Country, which Alex developed and executive produced. Alex pitched the concept to HBO, earned a greenlight from the network and showrunner Issa López, and cast Alaska Native Iñupiaq host Alice Qannik Glenn, a rare fit with roots in true crime podcasting who could speak to the season from inside the world it depicts.

Set in Ennis, Alaska, around detectives Liz Danvers and Evangeline Navarro, the series sees Glenn interview the people behind the show and the place it draws from: stars Jodie Foster and Kali Reis, crew from cinematography to the executive producers, and writer Issa López, featured throughout, plus real Alaskans whose true stories echo the series, including detectives, journalists, and Indigenous storytellers. It hit #1 in TV & Film on Apple and Spotify, reached the Top 20 overall charts, and holds 4.6 stars across more than 1,400 reviews.
